The characteristic of a sedentary lifestyle

This bachelor thesis deals with the characteristics of a sedentary lifestyle and its negative effects on human health. The phenomenon of sedentary lifestyle has a large share in the emergence of diseases of civilization, especially vertebrogenic disease, which are currently the first place. In the individual chapters of the work he characterizes the lifestyle, movement, sitting and sedentary lifestyle. In others, it develops correct and defective posture, seating compensation, ergonomics and a change of thinking. The sedentary style is subject of many Czech and foreign studies. Some studies appropriate to the topic of this work are described in the discussion and compared in terms of impacts on lifestyle and human health. The discussion shows that the sitting time is constantly increasing and with it its negative effects on human health.
Dietary habits and physical activity of sedentary job in Škoda Auto

The title of the theses: Dietary habits and physical activity of sedentary job in Škoda Auto The aim of the theses: The main aim of this theses was to find out dietary habits and level of the physical activity of sedentary job. There were set 6 hypothesis. Methods: The research was conducted with employees of Skoda Auto. The level of physical activity was measured with short form of IPAQ. Data were processed with basic statistic methods in MS Excel. Mesaured values were according to instructions transformed to MET- values and divided into appropriate categories according to criterias. Surveys was used for finding out dietary habits. The results were individually compared with other researches and literature. Results: The most respondents (42,4%) were in moderate level category, 41,3 % were in high level category and 16,3 % were in low level category. Men are more active than women. Men spend more time with intensive physical activity than women. More than half of respondents (55%) were, according to BMI values, in category of overweight and obesity. The mean of sitting time was 7 hours per day. Men have worse dietary habits than women. 85 % of employees of Skoda Auto have breakfast every day. More then half of emloyees eat 4-5x per day. The evaluation of physical activity of children of school age

Title: The evaluation of physical activity of children of school age Objectives: The aim of the study is to assess physical activity in children of school age in Prague 6 and evaluate the main factors influencing physical activities and the possible correlation between these factors and levels of physical activities. The work includes the spectrum of information about physical activity and its importance in the pediatric population, level overview of physical activities children in the world and its measurement, then the description of programs to support the physical activity. Methods: The research was carried out using non-standardized questionnaire. The questionnaire was distributed to 15 elementary schools located in Prague 6 among students of 2nd and 6th class. We used the Microsoft Excel software to analyse the data. Results: We found that the largest number of children does sports 2-4 hours a day. Boys and younger students were more physically active than girls, and older students. The results of the work suggest that children in the Czech Republic are, in the monitored parameters of physical activity (frequency, time), at a similar level as other children abroad. Eating habits of bank customer service representatives and their possible risks

The thesis of this work looks at sedentary job - using the example of bank advisers, their eating habits and physical activity - and possible health risks resulting from the sedentary lifestyle. Objective: To recognise eating habits of the bank advisers in ČSOB a.s., the degree of their physical activity and possible health risk evaluation. Research method: The research took place in the ČSOB a.s. branch network in the form of a survey, in which a questionnaire was distributed to bankers either in person or by e-mail. The sample consisted of 66 bankers, 40 of them were women and 26 men. Result: 56% of bankers surveyed are overweight or even obese, taking their MBI into consideration, 73% have gained weight after becoming bankers. 79% eat mainly at restaurants during their workdays, 24% have inadequate water consumption, 9% mention sugary drinks as their main source of water, 26% consume alcohol in higher than recommended amounts, 12% do not occupy themselves with any physical activity. The result has confirmed that sedentary jobs contribute significantly to weight gain and that bankers are among the groups in risk of possible development of civilisation-related diseases. Fitness rowing as a way how to influence hypokinesis of adults

Title of bachelor thesis: Fitness rowing as a way how to influence hypokinesis of adults. Author: Kristýna Kyselá Supervisor of bachelor thesis: Prof. Ing. Václav Bunc, CSc. Objective: Verify the applicability of rowing not only as a convenient means of influencing physical fitness but also as a maintaince of mental health for adults. Methodology: Survey filled by two prague rowing clubs - Rowing club Bohemians Praha, Rowing club Smíchov and two coaches from each of them were used to fulfill the objectives. Participants of that survey were 21-78 years old and the total number of them is 25. Results: Participants expressed satisfaction with rowing - in the survey they said that they definitely feel better physically and they also reported psychological well- being and they want to continue rowing. For that group of participants rowing can be used as a solution of lack of psysical activity in the age range of 21-78 years. Physical activity as a means of lifestyle change

Thesis title: Physical activity as a means of lifestyle change Thesis objective: The objective of the thesis at hand was to verify effectiveness of the exercise program that leads to a change from predominantly sedentary lifestyle to an active one. Methods applied in the thesis: To find out the effectiveness of the controlled exercise intervention, it was applied, for three months, to a group of four persons (one male and three females, aged 28 to 36). The effectiveness was evaluated by exercise test in a laboratory run by FTVS UK in Prague. Outcome: The first proband managed to reduce the overall weight by 2 kg (i.e.2.65 %), out of which the percentage of body fat decreased by 11.82 % and the weight of fat-free matter increased by 0.2 kg (i.e.0.3 %). The ECM/BCM ratio increased by 0.04 (i.e. 4.7 %). The value of aerobic endurance VO2max increased by 8.9 ml.kg-1 .min-1 (i.e. 23.2 %). The running speed per one kilometre (min.km-1 ) at the anaerobic threshold level fell from the original 4:58 minutes to 4:30 minutes (acceleration of 28 seconds). Probands Nos. 2, 3 and 4 managed, on average, to increase their overall weight by 1.7 kg (i.e. 2.11 %), out of which the percentage of body fat increased by 3.07 % and the weight of fat-free matter increased, on average, by 0.73 kg (i.e. 1.11 %). This bachelor thesis describes influence of health physical education, here compensation exercises, on health of population with sedentary lifestyle. Theoretical part deals with sedentary lifestyle as a characteristic of nowadays and consequence of poor seating and posture. It focus on compensation exercise, its segmentation and influence on health. The empirical part presents the intervention program in the form of motion health physical exercise for people with sedentary lifestyle. The program focuses mainly on momentum weakened system. Verification assumptions and efficient of intervention provides input and output measurements. As testing methods were used posture by Klein, Thomas modified by Mayer, evaluation by Matthias and tests on muscle shortening by Janda.
